Why You Must Think Beyond “Just School”
One big part of growth is earning for yourself.
Let’s be real: unless you have parents with generational wealth waiting for you after school, you cannot afford to just “chill” till you graduate. Even as a student, you can start preparing.
Now, I’m not saying you should take on heavy jobs that will make you fail your courses—no. But there are flexible skills you can learn and practice.
Even if you’re studying a demanding course like Medicine, you can still learn a skill now and practice with sample projects. No skill is wasted.
On the Virtual Assistant Class
Peculiar (TEW) mentioned the Virtual Assistant class I’m holding, and I’m so glad for those of you that already showed interest. For those still asking, “Do I really want to do this?” let me be honest: I’m not here to force you. But I will tell you for free—you need to learn a skill.
Why Skills Matter More Than Ever
We’re in an era where soft skills are what’s helping people make money and build something for themselves. It’s AI season. Everything is moving online. Everything is going virtual. You must make sure that as you grow, you also grow with the world.
My Own Story
I studied Chemistry in school, but I’ve never used my certificate—not once. Now, I’m not saying you shouldn’t use yours or give your best to your course. No. What I’m saying is: you never know what will happen. And let’s be real—this is Nigeria. Jobs don’t just fall into your hands once you graduate.
School is important (I’ll always advocate for it), but while in school, learn a skill.
If you can learn both, that’s even better.
A hard skill could be tailoring.
A soft skill could be graphic design, social media management, or becoming a Virtual Assistant.
These skills will save you when jobs are not coming in immediately after school. Even if you haven’t entered school yet, start now. Start building. Start earning.
Teenagers Are Doing It Already
I saw a video of a family with kids, one is 12, the others not up to 17. Guess what? They already have their own brand! These kids design children’s socks. Yes, those colorful designs you see on toe socks? Those kids made them. And they sell them. So yes—teenagers are already monetizing skills. So please you cant be left out.
The Real Problem: Execution
The truth is, most of us don’t have an idea problem. We have an execution problem. I’ve spoken about this over and over:
if you execute, your future self will thank you.
Why You Must Start Now
There are so many ways to make money. I’m not excluded from this advice. I give it to myself too. Every day, I try to put in the work so my future self will be proud of me. If you put in the work now, especially into passive income streams—you could graduate already a millionaire.
I’ve seen graduates create apps that got bought for thousands of dollars. Some of them never thought of “job hunting”—they started building companies instead.
But What If You Can’t Juggle It All?
You may ask, “How will I juggle so many things at once?” The answer is delegation.
If you land two clients as a Virtual Assistant, don’t decline one. Learn to delegate. And in the Virtual Assistant class I'm teaching, I’ll teach you how to delegate properly.
The Sweetness of Earning in Foreign Currency
Let me be real, there’s nothing sweeter than earning in dollars or pounds. When exchange rates were rising and people were complaining, I was smiling, because it only meant I was making more in Naira. From just one client in a month, I earned more than many 9–5 workers.

That’s why I keep saying: don’t wait. Start now.
